Wisconsin Medical Cannabis Lobby Day
On Jan. 16, 2013, IMMLY is joining forces with the Madison and Wisconsin chapters of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) and other Wisconsin cannabis activists, to bring advocates to the State Capitol in Madison to meet with their elected representatives about medical cannabis legislation.
Wisconsin medical cannabis legislation - the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act (JRMMA) will have a new lead sponsor next session. Rep. Chris Taylor (D-Madison), who will be taking over from longtime lead sponsor Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Madison) who was elected to the U.S. Congress on Nov. 6 to fill the seat held by Tammy Baldwin, elected a U.S. Senator the same day.

To prepare activists for this event, IMMLY and Madison NORML have made arrangements for two sessions of lobby training facilitated by a former State Assembly legislative staffer. The sessions will discuss how a bill becomes law and techniques for effective citizen lobbying.
